Biomass Chief Engineer, Earth Observation and Science. Airbus Defence and Space

Carl is Airbus’ Chief Engineer for the Biomass programme. He is responsible for leading the transnational engineering team building the Biomass satellite, its ground calibration transponder and ground processor. He has lead the engineering team on Biomass since the early concept stage, through its implementation proposal to today. Carl has over 25 years’ experience in the space industry, joining Matra Marconi Space as an undergraduate sponsored student whilst completing his Aerospace Engineering degree. Previous roles include leading the Earth Observation (EO) Group within Future Programmes and being a System Engineer on the LISA Pathfinder programme responsible for mission analysis and performance engineering.
